February 2012

I had an audition for a Pet Smart commercial last week and I hear there are some projects with teens on the horizon. I hope so. It has been dead (film) in Portland.
I sent in my registration for Portland Teen Idol and I am waiting to hear back on the audition dates.
Best news ever: I start at The Portland School of Rock this week! I am over the moon excited about this. I will have a weekly private lesson and the opportunity to join a band and sing lead and back up vocals as part of my training. So happy!

Have a Happy Valentines Day everyone.

January 2012

Hey everyone. So, let's see. What have I been up, too?

First off, I no longer have a web page because I am now listed on IMDb, the internet movie database with two film credits. I am still training with Katie O'Grady and now I am also training with Sandra Peabody. My last project was a short film in November for Hapstance Films called "Thank Full". I still like to do the small projects on occasion, but mostly I am waiting for that "perfect role". There is not a lot happening in our small market for teens right now, but I am not in a hurry. It's the perfect time to train.

This year I am focused on my singing. I still train with Kay Joham, who retired from Portland Opera 15 years ago and has been teaching me classical music since I was 9. Last year I tried out for One World Chorus, which is run by Aaron Nigel Smith of "Read Between The Lions" fame. I am a first soprano in his choir and I am experiencing authentic African music. Right now we are in the recording studio every week making a CD which will be on the shelves for sale in April. Proceeds will go to the Cura Orphanage in Kenya. Next month I am going to visit the studios of Portland School of Rock. I am ready to develop my singing style and try my voice on some pop/rock tunes. I plan to audition for Portland Teen Idol this year.

I am focused on school and getting good grades. So far I have maintained straight A's. I am writing a novel in my English class with my teacher's support. I tried Japanese classroom style butit didn't work for me. I miss my private tutor. Dad got me a Japanese program that we can put on my IPOD so I am waiting to try that out. In my free time I like to create characters, play Zelda and read great books.

Summer's in full swing

JULY 7th 2011

It's been a busy summer so far with lots of auditions and call backs. I'll only bother you with the details if (when) I get booked. There are tons of great projects going on.

This morning I dropped off PB & Jelly, fruit & chocloate to the set of F*ck Apathy PSA for the cast and crew. They are making a very important Public Service announcement that will air on the Web about woman in Somalia. Check it out at: http://www.indiegogo.com/lanav.

I got great news yesterday from my orthodontist. It's finally time for my braces. YAY! They go on July 18th and I will have them for about 12 months. I can't wait to have my smile back. I have been missing 4 of my front teeth for 1 1/2 years. Their still gone; hiding in my gums, but Dr. Angle's gonna coax them out.

Ta Ta for now. I will be waiting by the phone for the next several days while swimming, rock climbing, speaking Japanese and sleeping in.

Working hard but hardly working

JUNE 11 2011

Last week my weekly acting group had our spring showcase hosted by Katie O'Grady. There were about 30 agents, managers, casting directors, producers etc in the audience. It went really well. I think we all did a personal best performance. I get such a thrill from acting and it's hard not to get all wrapped up in the hype afterwards. I did two scenes. I played Tove from East of the Sun in both. It was a great night.

I attended a great workshop today with Eryn Goodman of Lana Veenker's office and Sandra Peabody. We did a scene on camera with a reader and got a lot of audition tips. I saw my friends Parker and Morgan.

Not much in the way of auditions the past few weeks. I should be filming for OHSU soon and the cast party for Jack & Jill is coming up. I am dying to film again so I hope there are lots of projects this summer for kids.

I am back in the gym but I am only doing floor and trampoline. I am so happy to be working out again. I will continue my Japanese lessons this summer at the Bodhi learning center and I will be attending summer camps for rock climbing and tennis.

April 2011 Jack & Jill

I played 'Young Jill' in Jack & Jill written by Matthew McCulley. Ethan McKay played 'Young Jack' and Parker Harris played 'Young Bobby' the bully who has a crush on me. I really love this script. It's the story of what happens to Jack after he breaks his crown; a fairy tale, love story. I had a great time working with this cast and crew; especially Matthew and I really hope I get to work with him again someday. In between takes the crew played catch with Ethan and I and sometimes it got pretty silly. It's hard when a project is over. I miss everyone.

It's Been Awhile April 2011

I have been wrapped up in Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin & my Website and have neglected my blog. Let me see if I can bring you up to date.

Since August of 2010 I have done several short films and auditioned a lot. I don't always get the call but at least I often get the shot. I received my very first IMDb credit for "Shortcake" the film and I now have my first acting reel. As of last year I am officially Professional.

I was given a shot at auditioning for GRIMM the new TV series in February but they went with a younger girl.

This month I gave it my best and auditioned for Portland Teen Idol. That was cool and I am holding my breath until April 20th to see if I made the first cut. It takes awhile because there are more than 200 teens auditioning in the first round. My voice coach says my voice is developing nicely and my mom thinks I sing like an angel. I don't know. I just love to sing.

Yesterday I auditioned for a guest star role in Leverage. For that one I am still waiting to hear. What I would give to play Molly McCarthy. Have you seen Christian Kane?

This Sunday I am filming a music video with hip hop artist Sapient. That is going to rock.

That's all for now but I promise to be back soon.
