Working on a cover with Sean

Sorry for the poor quality video, but here is a sample from our behind the scenes work on "Written in the Stars"  cover.   Sean LeTourneau on rap & Indi Jacobs singing. Let me know what you think. We will post a better video soon.

Band rehearsals start in less than a month. I am so excited for this opportunity. I love acting but let's face it, there are lots of talented kids and not many film opportunities here in Portland. I will continue training and hope that the perfect role comes along, but in the mean time I am working hard on my vocals and loving every minute of it. For 6 years I trained classical and now that I'm ready I get to sing rock, pop, jazz and the blues. I'm singing Freddy Mercury, Steven Perry, The Muse. And in July I start singing with my band, under Cameron and there's just not anything cooler than that. I hope you will come see us. First show is in September on the 16th at Mississippi Studio.INDI

Waiting until next year

I had my birthday party last weekend. A bbq at my house with all of my friends. We had a blast. Sunday morning I woke up with a sore throat and Monday I was sick on the couch. Every year, in April, usually right after my birthday this happens.  I feel better today but I missed a whole week of school and my teen idol audition.  I was feeling really sad about that until I talked it over with my mom. She pointed out that next year my voice will be so much stronger and it's better to be older if you win.  She said I'll have a better shot at whatever comes next if I wait until I'm older and you only get to win PTI once.  So, I feel better about it and next week I'll get back to work with Cameron. I've got the summer performance to focus on now. I still get to sing lead in a band!

I (heart) to SING!

The auditions for Portland Teen Idol begin on April 20th. I have been working with Cameron on my piece. I will be doing Freddy Mercury (I LOVE Queen). Cameron says I am going to be great. I should get my audition date next week and I will be ready. I still love acting but I have been focused this year on my voice with 2 vocal coaches and 2 choirs and I realize how much I love to sing. I am looking forward to this summer when I can join performance at School of Rock. Singing lead vocals for a band is like a dream come true. But, first...Teen Idol. Who wouldn't love to take first place, but I will be content to make it into the rounds. Last years winner was a 14 year old girl. I think I can do this.
Later.

February 2012

I had an audition for a Pet Smart commercial last week and I hear there are some projects with teens on the horizon. I hope so. It has been dead (film) in Portland.
I sent in my registration for Portland Teen Idol and I am waiting to hear back on the audition dates.
Best news ever: I start at The Portland School of Rock this week! I am over the moon excited about this. I will have a weekly private lesson and the opportunity to join a band and sing lead and back up vocals as part of my training. So happy!

Have a Happy Valentines Day everyone.

January 2012

Hey everyone. So, let's see. What have I been up, too?

First off, I no longer have a web page because I am now listed on IMDb, the internet movie database with two film credits. I am still training with Katie O'Grady and now I am also training with Sandra Peabody. My last project was a short film in November for Hapstance Films called "Thank Full". I still like to do the small projects on occasion, but mostly I am waiting for that "perfect role". There is not a lot happening in our small market for teens right now, but I am not in a hurry. It's the perfect time to train.

This year I am focused on my singing. I still train with Kay Joham, who retired from Portland Opera 15 years ago and has been teaching me classical music since I was 9. Last year I tried out for One World Chorus, which is run by Aaron Nigel Smith of "Read Between The Lions" fame. I am a first soprano in his choir and I am experiencing authentic African music. Right now we are in the recording studio every week making a CD which will be on the shelves for sale in April. Proceeds will go to the Cura Orphanage in Kenya. Next month I am going to visit the studios of Portland School of Rock. I am ready to develop my singing style and try my voice on some pop/rock tunes. I plan to audition for Portland Teen Idol this year.

I am focused on school and getting good grades. So far I have maintained straight A's. I am writing a novel in my English class with my teacher's support. I tried Japanese classroom style butit didn't work for me. I miss my private tutor. Dad got me a Japanese program that we can put on my IPOD so I am waiting to try that out. In my free time I like to create characters, play Zelda and read great books.

Summer's in full swing

JULY 7th 2011

It's been a busy summer so far with lots of auditions and call backs. I'll only bother you with the details if (when) I get booked. There are tons of great projects going on.

This morning I dropped off PB & Jelly, fruit & chocloate to the set of F*ck Apathy PSA for the cast and crew. They are making a very important Public Service announcement that will air on the Web about woman in Somalia. Check it out at: http://www.indiegogo.com/lanav.

I got great news yesterday from my orthodontist. It's finally time for my braces. YAY! They go on July 18th and I will have them for about 12 months. I can't wait to have my smile back. I have been missing 4 of my front teeth for 1 1/2 years. Their still gone; hiding in my gums, but Dr. Angle's gonna coax them out.

Ta Ta for now. I will be waiting by the phone for the next several days while swimming, rock climbing, speaking Japanese and sleeping in.

Working hard but hardly working

JUNE 11 2011

Last week my weekly acting group had our spring showcase hosted by Katie O'Grady. There were about 30 agents, managers, casting directors, producers etc in the audience. It went really well. I think we all did a personal best performance. I get such a thrill from acting and it's hard not to get all wrapped up in the hype afterwards. I did two scenes. I played Tove from East of the Sun in both. It was a great night.

I attended a great workshop today with Eryn Goodman of Lana Veenker's office and Sandra Peabody. We did a scene on camera with a reader and got a lot of audition tips. I saw my friends Parker and Morgan.

Not much in the way of auditions the past few weeks. I should be filming for OHSU soon and the cast party for Jack & Jill is coming up. I am dying to film again so I hope there are lots of projects this summer for kids.

I am back in the gym but I am only doing floor and trampoline. I am so happy to be working out again. I will continue my Japanese lessons this summer at the Bodhi learning center and I will be attending summer camps for rock climbing and tennis.
